Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transport Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will have a background in general haulage planning and groupage, with the ability to manage and optimise transport operations effectively. This role is key to maintaining the high standards of service our clients have come to expect. Key Responsibilities: Plan and coordinate transport operations for general haulage and groupage services, ensuring cost-effective and timely deliveries. Develop and optimise delivery schedules and routes, taking into account driver hours, vehicle capacity, and customer requirements. Communicate plans clearly to drivers and address any changes or issues as they arise. Monitor and manage fleet performance, ensuring adherence to transport regulations and company standards. Work closely with customers, providing updates and excellent service to build and maintain strong relationships. Maintain accurate records of schedules, routes, fuel usage, and driver hours. Identify and resolve operational challenges to ensure smooth service delivery. Collaborate with the wider team to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies. Key Requirements: Proven experience in transport planning, specifically within general haulage and groupage operations. Strong geographical knowledge of the UK and understanding of transport regulations. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure. Proficiency in transport planning software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams. A proactive and flexible approach, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of service. What We Offer: A competitive salary of £35,000 - £38,000 (depending on experience).
