Principal Electrical Engineer , you will be a key point of contact for clients, ensuring successful technical delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role involves providing expert electrical engineering input, overseeing project delivery, and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to meet project and client expectations. Key Responsibilities: Provide

technical input

for projects and proposals, including preparation, review, checking, and approval of electrical engineering documentation. Allocate tasks to team members, ensuring

delivery against plans, schedules , and budgets. Deliver high-quality electrical engineering tasks, ensuring client satisfaction while meeting project requirements. Prepare technical documents, including equipment/material requisitions for: HV and LV switchboards Transformers UPS systems Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Motors Power factor correction systems Trace heating Lighting systems Other electrical equipment Prepare

installation scopes of work

and technical specifications. Review supplier quotations and produce

technical bid assessments

to support procurement decisions. Ensure compliance with

national and international codes of practice , legislation, and company/client standards and procedures. Core Competencies and Skills Required: The role requires expertise in some or all of the following areas: HV System Design:

Expertise in systems up to 33kV. HV Protection Systems:

Developing protection schematics, performing grading studies, and preparing protection settings schedules. Detailed Electrical Network Design:

Design experience in plants with complex and large electrical networks. Earthing System Design:

Performing earthing calculations and designing compliant systems. Power System Analysis:

Conducting fault level calculations and load flow analyses. Hazardous Area Specification:

Specifying electrical equipment for hazardous area applications (ATEX, IECEx standards). Qualifications and Experience: Degree (or equivalent) in

Electrical Engineering

or a related discipline. Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards professional chartership is desirable. Extensive experience in

electrical design, analysis, and technical leadership . Proven track record in delivering engineering solutions in sectors such as Nuclear, Defence, Energy, or similar regulated industries. Strong understanding of relevant standards, including BS, IEC, and other applicable regulations. Proficiency in using power system design tools and software (e.g., ETAP, Amtech). Demonstrable experience of working in a

client-facing
