As a Project Engineer - Packaging Automation, you will:

Lead Onsite Activities:

Act as the onsite project lead, coordinating activities and communicating effectively with all stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution. Utilise Diverse Skills:

Apply your software, electrical, and mechanical expertise to install, troubleshoot, and support end-to-end automation solutions to the highest standard and within tight deadlines. Configure Advanced Hardware:

Set up and manage devices such as HMIs, PCs, PLCs, barcode scanners, vision systems, and industrial coders. Troubleshoot Networks:

Use your electrical and software skills to diagnose faults on Ethernet and RS232 systems. Deliver Comprehensive Training:

Provide customer training on everything from basic line operations to complete system functionalities. Enable Seamless Integration:

Configure solutions that integrate packaging line systems with ERP/MES platforms, ensuring efficient and effective operations. Use Microsoft SQL. Collaborate with Internal Teams:

Work closely with development and solutions teams to rigorously test new devices and ensure readiness before release to engineers and integrators. Handle Issues Promptly:

Identify, escalate, and resolve challenges by engaging the right departments or taking proactive action as required. Provide On-Call Support:

Participate in an Out-of-Hours rota to handle customer site calls and troubleshoot issues promptly.

To succeed in this role, you'll need: Experience:

5+ years in engineering roles, ideally as a project engineer. Technical Expertise:

Strong knowledge of software, electrical, and mechanical systems, with hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting automation devices. Qualifications:

NVQ Level 3, HNC, or higher in electrical or mechanical engineering. Communication Skills:

Proven ability to engage with clients, lead discussions, and deliver effective training. Flexibility and Commitment:

A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel internationally. Problem-Solving Skills:

A proactive approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues. Attention to Detail:

An analytical mindset for conducting surveys and optimizing project implementation.
