We are working with a leading main contractor in the Highways and Flood Defense sector to recruit a Senior Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to key infrastructure projects, overseeing setting out, quality assurance, and site management. You will work closely with a skilled team and ensure the successful delivery of projects. Key Responsibilities Independently perform daily setting out tasks with minimal supervision. Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to Junior Engineers, fostering their development. Oversee and track all site sample and performance testing, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and maintaining accurate records. Conduct hazard and risk assessments, along with preparing method statements for safe execution of work. Manage site service plans and drawings, ensuring proper permit issuance in accordance with project requirements. Collaborate with the Site QS and Project Manager to supply necessary information for record-keeping and claims purposes. Monitor and manage the implementation of temporary works, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Ensure all activities align with quality, safety, and environmental policies, as well as company procedures. What do we need from you? Proactive problem-solving abilities and confident communication skills. Ability to effectively liaise with a range of professionals across various disciplines. Extensive experience in setting out for infrastructure projects, including highways, roads, and earthworks. Proficiency in working with Leica/Geomax surveying equipment and transferring information from AutoCAD to surveying tools. Strong understanding of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality assurance processes. Leadership skills with the ability to manage and guide teams. Solid understanding of construction practices and project execution. Full UK driving license and willingness to travel throughout the Eastern region. Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK First Aid at Work qualification (desirable). Salary for this role will be dependent upon experience and discussed upon shortlisting.
