The Integrated Sexual Health Services Matron is responsible for delivering a comprehensive health advisory service across the Integrated Sexual Health Service. This role involves providing extensive training and health promotion programs to all nursing team members, ensuring consistency in training resources, client information, and advice throughout the service. Key Responsibilities: Health Advisory Services:

Offer expert health advice and support to clients, addressing a wide range of sexual health issues. Training and Development:

Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for the nursing team, ensuring all members are equipped with up-to-date knowledge and skills. Health Promotion:

Lead health promotion initiatives aimed at educating clients and the community about sexual health, prevention, and wellness. Consistency in Information:

Ensure that all training materials, client information, and advice provided are consistent and aligned with the latest guidelines and best practices. Team Leadership:

Provide leadership and support to the nursing team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Quality Assurance:

Monitor and evaluate the quality of services provided, implementing improvements as necessary to maintain high standards of care. Person Specification

Knowledge Requirements

Evidence of professional development. Clinical Governance, change management, leadership development. Sexual Health Agenda Evidence of ability to audit and set standards Excellent written and oral communication skills IT skills Extensive clinical expertise within sexual health services Research awareness. Currently holds or working towards completion of advanced skills in relation to the integrated sexual health service: Inter Uterine device, checking and removal, Venepuncture, Microscopy, Sexual and contraception history, Partner notification, Patient Group Directions, Sub dermal hormonal implants. Research awareness, complaints management Qualifications

1st level registered nurse. Relevant qualification in Contraception and Sexual Health Experience of working to PGD's Experience of supporting teaching & learning in a clinical environment. Evidence at continuing training & education within speciality Currently holds or working towards Nurse Diploma Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health. Management qualification and relevant experience STIF course Nurse prescriber Further Training

FLIPS or equivalent (or be prepared to work towards). All Mandatory Updates including annual safeguarding training requirements Other training necessary for the role Counselling skills. Experience

Substantial experience working at a senior level band 7 or above within sexual health services. Working in community Contraception and Sexual Health clinics Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure Extensive clinical experience within Integrated Sexual Health Services at a senior level. Excellent organisational skills. Good interpersonal & organisational skills Experience in delivery of autonomous nurse led clinics. Experience in the management of safeguarding / child sexual exploitation (CSE) case management. Additional reproductive healthcare experience e.g. midwifery / gynaecology Sexual Health clinic experience e.g. GU Medicine. Contractual Requirements

Ability to travel between community clinic sites Flexible Ability to travel to various locations within hospital and community settings. Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. Need to be able to work across seven day services provision. Mandatory training. Provide on-going evidence of professional development Disclosure and Barring Service Check
