Purpose: To conduct innovative research and development in molecular biology and next-generation sequencing workflows, contributing to the development of advanced pathogen detection systems for public health and CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) applications. Responsibilities : Research and Development : Perform cutting-edge molecular biology research to optimize workflows, including nucleic acid extraction, RNA/DNA analysis, and qPCR/RT-PCR. Contribute to the development of NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) library preparation and sequencing methods. Data Analysis and Reporting : Accurately record experimental protocols and results, analyze data, and create comprehensive reports. Present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences as required. Lab Operations and Maintenance : Maintain lab equipment, ensure adherence to safety protocols, and contribute to the drafting and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Interdisciplinary Collaboration : Work closely with engineers and other disciplines to support the integration of molecular biology methods into instrumentation development. Clearly communicate scientific requirements and findings to a diverse team. Team Contribution : Actively contribute to the team’s goals, support colleagues, and participate in cross-functional activities to drive the success of the pathogen detection systems. Main Activities : Perform molecular biology techniques, including nucleic acid extraction, purification, and analysis, as well as qPCR/RT-PCR workflows. Develop, test, and refine NGS library preparation and sequencing workflows (training provided if needed). Analyze experimental results and communicate findings effectively through written reports and presentations. Maintain laboratory instruments, develop SOPs, and uphold safety protocols. Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to integrate molecular biology techniques into pathogen detection systems. This role requires an enthusiastic individual with a proactive mindset, eager to excel in laboratory research and contribute meaningfully to the development of next-generation public health technologies.
