Scottish Borders About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Business Partner to join our organisation. This is a key managerial role, overseeing a team of 11 dedicated professionals. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial sustainability and operational effectiveness of the department. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the department, aligning financial objectives with organisational goals. Manage and monitor the department's budget, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and best practices. Develop and implement financial forecasting and reporting mechanisms to track performance and identify areas for improvement. Lead the budget planning and allocation process, ensuring resources are effectively utilised to deliver high-quality services. Provide financial analysis and decision support to senior management on key strategic initiatives. Oversee the management of financial risks and controls within the department. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure financial integration and alignment. Lead and develop a high-performing team of 11 finance professionals. Essential Skills and Experience Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner or in a similar financial management role within a public sector organisation. Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and budgeting processes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders. Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders. Experience in using financial management systems and tools. Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, ICAEW, CIPFA) is a compulsory requirement for this role. Benefits Competitive salary and benefits package.
