National Grid Balfour Beatty is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planner to join our team. This is a crucial role that directly impacts project success. About the Role As a Senior Planner, you'll lead the development and management of complex construction project schedules, ensuring optimal resource allocation and on-time delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and management of complex construction project schedules. Mentor and guide less experienced planners, fostering a collaborative environment. Ensure projects adhere to planning procedures and guidelines. Proactively identify potential challenges and develop effective mitigation strategies. Produce and maintain meticulous planning documents, reports, and presentations. Optimize resource management (labor, equipment, materials) to minimize costs and delays. Effectively manage contracts and relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. Analyze project data to track progress and identify areas for improvement. Qualifications Advanced proficiency in project management software (Excel, MS Project, Primavera P6, or ASTA). Previous experience working as a planner for national grid, substations, or similar is highly desirable. Deep understanding of construction project management principles and best practices. Proven expertise in developing and managing complex project schedules. Familiarity with various tender and contract documents. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Proven experience leading planning efforts on significant construction projects. Excellent relationship management skills with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders. Join Our Team!
