The Role: The Facilities & Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of Compton Verney. This position oversees the entire estate including buildings and infrastructure, focusing on creating a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment for visitors, staff, artists, and volunteers. Key Responsibilities: Project Management & Planning

Implement the 20-year capital investment plan, informed by the site condition survey, Masterplan, and Strategy. Oversee capital projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, safely, and with minimal disruption. Generate financial savings by analysing data from the Building Management System and other sources. Support the Executive and Board by chairing the Capital working group and providing reports. Assist with budget-setting by providing accurate projections and collaborating with the Development team. Foster a positive relationship with Compton Verney’s Quinquennial Architect and other stakeholders. Ensure all exhibitions, events, and activities are supported by the operations team. Leadership & Management

Create a motivated and productive team through effective management. Manage key service providers and procure services in line with financial regulations. Contribute to the financial sustainability by managing departmental budgets. Be a pivotal member of Compton Verney’s management team, representing the interests of the heritage property. Facilities Management

Ensure the built estate is well maintained and legally compliant. Ensure responsive repairs are conducted efficiently. Ensure ICT equipment is fit for purpose and secure. Develop policies and procedures for security and accessibility. Oversee the maintenance of the site perimeter and other facilities. Health & Safety

Maintain a safe environment by implementing health and safety procedures. Ensure compliance with health and safety and environmental procedures. Provide a reference point for all Health and Safety enquiries. Lead on the Emergency Management Plan and disaster recovery planning. Conduct risk assessments and manage safety management platforms. Qualifications and Attainments

IOSH or NEBOSH qualification. Work Experience

3 years’ experience in facilities management or a related field. Experience leading teams. Experience using ICT systems. Experience in compliance and risk management. Experience delivering projects to time and budget. Skills

Strong listening and communication skills. Personal and empathetic. Excellent project management skills. Financial management and budgeting skills. Ability to manage situations with tact and diplomacy. Behaviours and Characteristics

Initiative-taking attitude and willingness to contribute. Self-motivated. Ability to prioritise and manage workload.
