We're Looking for Someone With: A current NMC registration and a strong clinical background in nursing. Significant experience in clinical education, mentorship, or a related field, ideally within the NHS or a similar healthcare setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and academic partners. A deep commitment to the development of nursing talent and the improvement of patient care through education. The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing needs within a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Main duties of the job The facilitation of learning and development in placement areas across Kent and Medway, identification of suitable placements, matching students to suitable placement, and placement visits to Practice Assessors and students. Facilitation of the Preceptorship programme including teaching, reflective practice, and guidance for Preceptees, Preceptors and Managers. Supporting Practice Assessors through training, updates and resources. Monitoring the quality of placements through Placement evaluation and maintaining records for CQC / NMC, Universities and other key stakeholders. Each member of the Practice Placement Team has an area focus in addition to the above. The focus of your role will be the support of teams to increase the number of students they can support in their team. Providing guidance and support to Practice Assessors and Managers, monitoring of progress and quality.

The applicant will need to have 4 years post-registration experience, as a Mental Health or Learning Disabilities Nurse.

Applicants should have experience of working with students and in the delivery of training and/or giving presentations. You will need to be confident in meetings both in KMPT and universities.

You will need to be self-motivated and organised.

You should be able to work with screens for long periods and to use excel, word and PowerPoint.

Due to hybrid working, you will need to be able to work from home and travel to your base and to placement areas when needed.
