Body Electronics Engineer (849) Cranfield £27.94 per hour

We are recruiting a Body Electronics Engineer for one of our automotive clients based in Cranfield. You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company. This is a long-term contract role. The contract is ongoing and may run for several years.

Key Responsibilities of the Body Electronics Engineer:

Generate & develop cost reduction ideas for electronic components, working cross-functionally with other affected design sections to deliver the ideas. Application and integration of electrical and electronic components and systems to client's European vehicles. Releasing and maintaining the vehicle BOM. Capture of customer requirements and creation of high-level specs. Close coordination and cooperation with global Alliance R&D centres. Management of tier 1 suppliers to achieve Q, C, T targets. Management of supplier and in-house validation to client's standards. Creation and maintenance of end-of-line configuration data. Having 'Frontline' responsibility for plant and market support. Standard KPIs for cost, quality and timing: Achievement of commitment cost at monitor timing. QBASE and G-CAR closure within company guidelines. Design release according to agreed date in release schedule.

Qualifications & Experience for the Body Electronics Engineer:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electronic or electrical engineering. Competent with PC applications such as MS Office. Knowledge of CAN, CAN tools and vehicle diagnostics. Valid driving license. Ability to demonstrate and have practical experience of problem-solving tools and techniques. 3 years or more relevant experience in the automotive industry. Knowledge of electrical theory and electronic devices. Knowledge of hardware and software development processes. Project and supplier management experience. Ability to travel within the UK and internationally to suppliers, plants, and other global R&D centres on an infrequent basis. Ability to work cross-functionally with excellent communication and project management skills. Self-motivated and self-managing.

Hours & Pay for the Body Electronics Engineer:

Monday to Friday. 39 hours per week. £27.00p/h.
