Position: Senior Lighting Designer Location: London (Kennington)

The Role The Senior Lighting Designer is responsible for project management, concept development, client liaison, and quality control of multiple projects of all scales and types, on time and on budget. A flair for innovation and creativity to create stunning lighting designs. Articulate, engaging, and confident in talking to large groups of people (including clients, designers, contractors) to sell and agree on lighting ideas to a wide range of audiences. Highly productive and efficient, the Senior Designer is able to delegate tasks, manage, and motivate a small global design team to produce work with minimal mistakes and meet project deadlines. The Senior Designer is capable of managing and setting client expectations and winning repeat business through exceeding those expectations.

Responsibilities

Concept Design:

A flair for developing innovative lighting concepts that meet the clients' requirements and deliverables within the parameters of the fee. Project Management:

Managing multiple projects, fulfilling the clients' design brief, adhering to the fee proposal and budget, managing and motivating the project team, getting design sign-off from the Design Director, meeting deadlines, and delivering lighting excellence. Client Liaison:

Managing client expectations and meeting or preferably exceeding expectations. Organisation and Prioritisation:

The senior design role is difficult. It is essential to be highly organised and able to prioritise work effectively. Commissioning:

Proactive in organising and attending site visits in the UK and overseas, dealing with clients, builders, and electricians onsite, adjusting the lighting, writing up snagging lists, and working with AV consultants to set light levels. Referrals:

Winning referrals through excellence in design and delivery.

Skills 7+ years experience as a lighting designer; Extensive experience in delivering high-end residential, large-scale hospitality and retail projects; Management experience; Excellent project management skills; Attention to detail; Strong IT skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD, Dialux, Adobe Creative Cloud.
