Section 2 - Purpose of Job
Supports senior colleagues in the day-to-day business origination execution. Supports technical analysis with regards to capital structure, credit ratings assessments, debt capacity analysis and risk management. Possess good understanding of major financing products and concepts across corporate, infrastructure and leveraged markets.
Section 3 - Background
CSG is a business origination function and provides corporate finance input and advisory services to non-financial customers. CSG works with all relationship bankers globally for the benefit of the banks customer base within EMEA. CSG bankers have a good understanding of all financing and risk management products, as well as other functions, such as M&A, leveraged and structured finance, as well as credit ratings. CSG is part of the Corporate Finance & Sustainability Solutions Group which reports directly to the Heads of the CIB and Structured Finance Solutions verticals. Close interaction with certain external parties, such as rating agencies, private equity firms, consultants etc.
Section 4 - Facts / Scale
Produces reliable technical analysis in close collaboration with the VP and / or Director. Drafts customer marketing / output materials. Produces industry sector and peer analysis. Creates the required backbone to undertake credit ratings assessment. Works in close collaboration with their peers in product and relationship departments. Handles multiple assignments at the same time.
Section 5 - Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Delivery of reliable technical analysis concerning many facets of broader corporate finance concepts, including credit ratings, debt capacity, mergers / disposals, IPO implications, risk management, etc. Production of customer-facing output materials in close collaboration and under guidance from VP / D / ED. Creation of the technical and research-backbone to support the analytical appraisal of corporate finance enquiries reaching CSG.
Section 6 - Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Experience in producing / navigating corporate financial models, including handling of P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow inputs. Experience in ascertaining different capital structure components, including senior and junior debt components. Some experience in applying rating agency methodology. Ability to transform conceptual ideas into analytical models and customer-facing output materials. Confidence in reaching across teams to seek relevant input and feedback. Advanced written and spoken communication skills, and openness to work with different senior bankers in different regions and industrial sectors.

Handing conflicting work assignments. Managing workflow under tight timelines. Ensuring timely communication, both to senior and junior colleagues inside and outside CSG. Staying abreast of market and client developments and adjusting work output accordingly. Finding time to advance his / her own personal and professional development.
