These ultra-exclusive cars are engineered and designed without compromise to provide unrivalled driving experiences and driver-centric connection. This role requires an understanding of embedded software development and experience in model-based software development using Matlab/Simulink tools. Candidates should have a systems-level understanding and have ideally worked on Battery Management Systems (BMS) and power distribution systems within the automotive industry. The position can be based either in Warwickshire or Shalford, Surrey. Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain embedded software models and control algorithms for BMS, power distribution and other vehicle systems using Matlab/Simulink. Participate in system-level design reviews, providing technical input on embedded software solutions. Design and implement data interfaces for integration between Simulink models and external code. Configure Matlab Coder to optimize code generation and ensure compliance with project coding standards. Optimize generated C code for performance and memory efficiency. Conduct verification using Model-in-the-Loop (MIL) and Processor-in-the-Loop (PIL) testing. Participate in Functional Safety design reviews to ensure model compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations. Ensure model component traceability, coverage and compliance with safety standards through design, and comprehensive testing and documentation. Assist with the integration of software and hardware, supporting base software engineers. Collaborate with hardware engineers to deploy code to target platforms. Participate in calibration of model parameters. Ensure compliance with relevant automotive standards and safety regulations. Troubleshoot and resolve embedded software and system integration issues. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Proven experience in model-based, embedded software development using Matlab/Simulink. First-hand experience with Matlab Coder and Simulink Coder for C code generation. Proficiency in MIL and PIL testing. Experience with battery management systems (BMS) and power distribution systems in the automotive industry is highly desirable. Demonstrable understanding of electrical architectures and underlying network and diagnostic technologies. Working knowledge of CAN, FlexRay, automotive ethernet, LIN networks and vehicle diagnostics. Strong understanding of functional safety standards, ISO26262, and awareness of automotive regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. Full driving licence is essential.
