Mechanical Engineer Onsite: Full time Reading Our client is engineering revolutionary satellite technology to advance global connectivity and deliver transformative insights. The team is tackling one of the toughest challenges in aerospace: designing satellites capable of operating at unprecedented low altitudes of 200 km—just one-third of conventional satellite orbits. This demands exceptional problem-solving skills and a willingness to push the boundaries of innovation. In this environment, they seek only the highest-performing engineers ready to embrace these challenges. The work is demanding, and extended on-site hours may be required, but the rewards include contributing to technologies that enable enhanced satellite imagery, direct-to-phone internet, and debris-free orbits. The Role: They are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation satellite systems, including their innovative propulsion technology. You will take ownership of developing complex subsystems, utilizing your expertise in CAD, structural analysis, and manufacturing processes to drive the mission forward. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of advanced satellite structures and mechanisms. Conduct rapid prototyping and testing in a fast-paced environment. Perform structural and failure mode analyses using hand calculations and FEA tools. Optimize designs through trade studies for cost, performance, safety, and schedule. Minimum Requirements: At least 2 years of experience in mechanical design and structural analysis. Advanced proficiency in CAD modeling and preparing technical drawings. Extensive experience with FEM software (e.g., ANSYS) for structural analysis. Expertise in GD&T and a solid understanding of aerospace or aviation structures. Why join them? Innovative Technology: Be part of launching groundbreaking systems that redefine satellite operations in ultra-low Earth orbit. Ownership & Impact: Experience unparalleled ownership, contributing to the complete lifecycle of cutting-edge technologies. Competitive Rewards: Receive a competitive salary and equity in the company, sharing in the success of the pioneering solutions you help create. Seniority level
