Job Title: User Researcher/UXR Company: DriverReviews Location: Edinburgh (4 days in office) Salary: £32k - £40k depending on experience plus 10% bonus We are not looking for any UX/UI/product designers. DriverReviews was created to help support and simplify the consumer journey by allowing consumers to read genuine and authentic tyre reviews from real motorists who have already bought tyres for the same car make and model that the customer needs. DriverReviews was launched in 2021 and has quickly grown to become Europe’s largest verified tyre reviews platform, partnering with the largest online tyre retailers and tyre manufacturers to collect and syndicate more than 450,000 tyre reviews from genuine, verified motorists. The opportunity: We are looking for a passionate, curious, and experienced User Researcher to uncover valuable insights into customer behaviour and decision-making. In this role, you will engage directly with customers to understand their situations, motivations, and the factors influencing their choice to purchase—or not purchase. Your work will be crucial in shaping our understanding of customer needs and driving informed decisions that enhance our products and services. This role is focussed on situational research (understanding the why) rather than solution research (usability testing). If you excel at empathetic listening, navigating conversations to uncover deeper insights, and transforming those insights into actionable recommendations, we want to hear from you. Key responsibilities: Engage directly with customers to explore their situations, motivations, and decision-making processes related to purchasing or not purchasing Design and implement structured research to uncover actionable insights Interpret qualitative and quantitative data to identify patterns, trends, and key drivers behind customer behaviour Use active listening and unbiased questioning techniques to ensure authentic and accurate data collection Produce clear, compelling reports and presentations that highlight customer insights and their implications Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring their needs and perspectives are central to decision-making processes Key personal criteria: Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, related field, or equivalent practical experience At least two years commercial experience as a User Researcher working either agency or client-side Empathy and emotional intelligence to deeply understand and connect with customer perspectives and experiences Excellent communication skills, including active listening and effective questioning techniques critical for engaging with customers and stakeholders Analytical thinking to identify themes and draw meaningful insights from the data Attention to detail in capturing and interpreting customer feedback without bias Organisational skills for planning, conducting, and documenting research while managing multiple tasks and deadlines Adaptability in your research methods and approaches. The ideal candidate may have: Additional languages, preferably German or French Have familiarity with the eCommerce space What we will offer: Annual salary £32k to £40k per annum depending on experience Pension provision - we pay 5% of your base salary as an employer's contribution Up to 10% discretionary annual bonus based on company's performance 1 free set of tyres per annum Perkbox membership Life Assurance - up to 4 times your base annual salary in the event of your death while in service Free counselling service and mental health support Cycle to work scheme.
