Working closely with the NE&Y HCC Network Lead Clinician, Deputy Lead Clinician, operational leads, and multidisciplinary teams across the vast Network.
The post holder will play a key role in maintaining, developing, and improving the quality of services across the network, influencing patient outcomes and experience for patients with Sickle Cell.
This will primarily be a strategic leadership role, providing clinical expert guidance and support to network nursing staff and advising on relevant education activity.
The post holder will work within a team consisting of a HCC Clinical lead, HCC Deputy Clinical Lead, and Network Manager (HCC Leadership Team), liaising with local consultants, nursing, and operational leads across the region.
The post holder will work autonomously and exercise a high level of clinical expertise in identifying and meeting the needs of Sickle Cell patients and their significant others.
The post holder will be required to work collaboratively with network stakeholders to ensure the nationally agreed metrics and outcomes for the HCC network are maintained. They will develop strategic approaches for actual and potential risks, implement appropriate mitigation, and escalate where necessary through the set governance for the HCC network, being accountable to HCC MDTs, Business Meetings, and the National Haemoglobinopathy Panel (NHP).
