We are recruiting for a Project Engineer to join the team at Hartlepool power station on a permanent basis.

This is a key role within our Project Management Resource team which is spread across our UK network at all UK sites and stations. You will be supported and mentored by experienced project management professionals within the team and given the training and opportunities you need to develop and expand your project management, business development and leadership skills with larger and more complex projects.

Since 1983 Hartlepool has generated over 258 TWh of zero carbon electricity which is enough to power every home in the Tees Valley for 204 years avoiding 90m tonnes of CO2 emissions, or like taking 43m cars off UK roads for a year.

You will be accountable to the client Project Manager, Programme Manager and/or Construction Manager. Flexible working arrangements between office and home may be possible, however, the role will predominantly be based at the Power Station.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Project Managers and Construction Manager in managing allocated work from assignment to close out. Ensure that work is conducted in a safe, timely and effective manner to its conclusion. Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including quality plans. Produce technical specifications and support the process of contractor selection and contract placement. Manage technical queries in accordance with process and procedures. Conduct appraisals of project options, feasibility studies, and site surveys. Liaison with designers and station engineering staff.

This will be site-based for 5 days per week.

Qualifications: Typically, you will be a Chartered Engineer or hold an HND. A Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification is required. APMP formal project management qualification or equivalent is preferred. Experience in identifying, implementing, and complying with applicable safety, environmental and quality standards.

Everyone working in our team will have a proven track record of working within highly regulated environments with high safety standards and culture. Strong communication and organisational skills are a must, with the ability to develop relationships and maintain effective networks while being results-focused tempered with a team-centred approach. #J-18808-Ljbffr
