Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Industry: Retail Shopfitting Location: Birmingham Salary: GBP40,000 - GBP55,000 per annum Job Type: Full-Time/Permanent My client is a trusted leader in delivering innovative and efficient shopfitting solutions for the retail sector. With a strong reputation for excellence, they are seeking a dedicated Quantity Surveyor to support their projects and contribute to their ever growing success. Key Responsibilities: Cost Estimation and Budget Management:

Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for shopfitting projects. Monitor project costs and ensure expenditure aligns with approved budgets. Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide value engineering solutions.

Tendering and Procurement:

Prepare tender documents, contracts, and bills of quantities. Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure best value. Negotiate terms with vendors and subcontractors.

Project Management Support:

Collaborate with project managers to forecast costs and manage budgets. Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and manage any financial or contractual issues. Ensure timely preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts.

Risk Management:

Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies. Provide financial advice to project stakeholders to minimize risks.

Reporting and Documentation:

Prepare and present detailed cost reports and financial statements. Maintain accurate records of all financial and contractual matters. Ensure compliance with all legal and contractual obligations.

Key Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional membership (e.g., RICS or CIOB) is advantageous. Proven experience in the retail shopfitting or construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and shopfitting processes. Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office Suite. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
