Mechanical Technician Department:
Maintenance Responsible to:
Maintenance Manager SUMMARY
The position works within the plant Maintenance team covering four sites; you will be responsible for the planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance while adhering to strict health and safety Company procedures at all times. You will be required to generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports, and document all work carried out in the Maintenance system used. You will also provide guidance to semi-skilled members of the Maintenance team. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out equipment breakdowns effectively and efficiently. Extract/receive and carry out planned preventative maintenance (from CMMS) on all pre-processing equipment aiming to achieve maximum plant availability, with zero unplanned downtime. Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance inspections. Conduct safety compliance inspections and maintain records. Ensure that programmed work is completed on time, to the satisfaction of business requirements. Work to health and safety, environmental, and other standards as they apply to the process. Maintain standard operating procedures as required. Support external buildings/service maintenance contractor teams (fire alarms, compressors, etc.). Develop/document training material to facilitate the transfer of skills and knowledge to other members. Effectively evidence and control critical spares for all key processes. Experience of working with engineering drawings. Adhere to safe working practices and procedures, including but not limited to lockout, tag out, confined space, and working at heights. Following assessment, may operate a variety of equipment including loaders, forklifts, high lifts, cranes, cherry pickers, or scissor lifts. Assist Electrical engineer on his tasks. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum NVQ level 3 in a suitable engineering subject. IOSH desirable. EXPERIENCE
Welding experience will be advantageous. Minimum 2 years' experience in specific mechanical tasks. Electrical experience would be advantageous. ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Knowledge of production process equipment. Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge. Report writing. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Salary:
DOE up to £53,000 Call outs:
Will be paid minimum of 4 hours after training and competency reached if required. Salary review:
After 3 and 6 months, outcome dependent on performance when signed off as competent and able to go on the call out rota if required. Benefits:
