If so, the University of Suffolk is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the role of Technical Infrastructure Manager.

About the Role:

Our Digital & IT department is crucial in delivering and managing core applications, infrastructure, and service delivery support to all customers and stakeholders. Guided by our Digital Strategy, we strive to ensure the best possible digital environment for our staff and students.

As a Technical Infrastructure Manager, you will support our digital strategy, stay updated on emerging cloud technologies and cyber security challenges, drive performance improvement, and develop strong partnerships across the University to align IT services with their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the 2nd and 3rd line functions, acting as the primary technical authority within the Directorate. Develop, implement, manage, and maintain ICT infrastructure, including server, cloud, and network configuration, security, accessibility, connectivity, policy, and backup. Collaborate with other areas within the Directorate and external vendors to ensure technical services support an excellent experience for both staff and students. Support the development of technical strategic alignment, design, implementation, ongoing maintenance, and monitoring of the University infrastructure, both on-premise and in the cloud. Act as a digital ambassador, providing high-quality technical support and guidance to the department and stakeholders.

About You:

You are expected to have a comprehensive understanding of various IT disciplines, with potential specialisation in areas such as cloud server and storage, cyber security, networking & telephony, emerging cloud and AI solutions, workstations, applications, and audio-visual technology. As the Technical Infrastructure Manager, you will drive technical excellence and innovation within the University's Digital & IT services, ensuring continual service improvement and the smooth running of all ICT infrastructure.
