The Environmental Advisor promotes and provides professional expert knowledge and guidance to managers, supervisors, employees and contractors on environmental work practices, safety standards, and legal regulations. The role supports identification and elimination of potential risks, hazards/non-compliances, and ensures control measures are in place as per local legal and permit requirements. The Environmental Advisor is expected to liaise with and support the Project QHSE Director/Manager, Package/Construction Managers, and Client Representatives to ensure good levels of environmental cooperation are maintained and information where lessons can be learned are shared throughout the project and wider organization. A risk-based approach to the protection of the environment, including CLIENT assets and reputation, is essential, along with following the statutory requirements in terms of environmental reporting defined in local legislation. The role is based in the Leba area at the onshore construction office (under construction) and will require site visits to various locations, including the construction site near Leba and cable landfall site. Flexibility is required for occasional off project site visits for company and supplier internal/external meetings, which may also be overseas. Applicants are preferred to be local and live within 60 minutes travel time of the site/base location. Travel expenses to the base location are not expensed by CLIENT. Deliverables:
Creation and monitoring of the Project Environmental Management Plan, Waste Management Plan, Aspect and Impact Register, and similar environmental management plans. Monthly and annual internal and statutory environmental reporting, including waste management and emissions to the environment. Create and deliver specific environmental training for the Project personnel. Ensure that environmental risk controls and processes are implemented and effective, and report on improvement opportunities. Deliver monthly E reporting to Project QHSE Director as well as Statutory Site Manager when relevant. Responsibilities:
Support Project risk owners in managing environmental risks, reducing them to as low as reasonably practicable. Monitor and assess project environmental performance and report any areas of concern. Participate actively in continual improvement of protecting the environment and business performance in the project. Enhance environmental awareness across the project. Be the focal point of contact for Local Authorities and other key stakeholders in relation to environmental matters on the project. Timely and accurate submission of all legally binding environmental reports and data to authorities. Ensure compliance of all aspects of the project's environmental management system with applicable regulations. Oversee Contractors' actions and behaviours on sites regarding environmental aspects resulting from obtained permits and legal requirements. General oversight of archaeological aspects on site. Act as an environmental protection specialist responsible for the development and application of a rapid response procedure in emergency situations at the offshore wind farm. Success Criteria:

Implementation and supervision of the environmental management system at the Project site. Ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 by creating, implementing, and updating procedures and environmental instructions. Conducting internal audits to monitor compliance with environmental requirements and identifying potential areas for improvement. Preparing audit reports and conclusions, along with recommendations for management staff. Waste management at designated sites and reporting in accordance with the Waste Act. Identification and classification of waste generated at the construction site. Monitoring contractors' waste management procedures. Maintaining waste records in the online waste management system (Pol. BDO). Preparation of annual reports on waste management and submission to the appropriate office. Control and reporting of pollutant emissions produced by CLIENT in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act. Requirements and Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years' experience in environmental management on complex, international, large-scale construction projects. Acting as environmental advisor/manager/expert on a minimum of 2 construction sites. Degree or similar in Polish environmental science. Industry-recognized environmental qualifications (e.g., IEMA). Strong management skills and experience in implementing environmental management systems. Excellent stakeholder management skills. Fluent in Polish and English; another European language is an advantage. Knowledge of Polish environmental legislation. Valid GWO BST training. OEUK Medical Certificate. Valid and active driving license. Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
Experienced in delivery of training courses/material.
