Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Area Manager you will: Ensure the best performance of battery storage and large-scale solar assets Perform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar and battery sites in the Cambridgeshire and into Suffolk too Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements when completing your duties Test both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issues Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to look for issues with the assets Gain Authorised Person status after receiving training Consistent inspection, maintenance and testing of the systems Look for trends and use data analysis to see if you can spot any common trends and suggest ways to improve operations as a result Occasionally assist with tasks such as solar panel cleaning, some ground maintenance and site CCTV Occasionally work away from your patch/area and be flexible to help when the business needs this
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following: Level 3 in electrical installations as a minimum 18th edition wiring regs Ideally you will have C&G 2391 or equivalent A HSE qualification is desired Experience within a solar or BESS environment is hugely preferred UK driving licence is essential
Personal skills
The Solar & BESS Technician role would suit someone who is: Flexible with location and in travelling outside of your patch on occasion Experienced in liaising with third parties and troubleshooting Experienced in reading, writing and assessing RAMS is hugely beneficial Someone who wants to learn and make a genuine difference
Salary and benefits of the Solar and BESS Technician role
A starting salary up to 42,000 depending on experience Bonus, overtime and increased pay for on call rota PPE, toolkit, work van (for business purposes) provided and annual leave
