Lead and oversee the Annual Review process for EHCPs, ensuring timely completion and compliance with statutory requirements. Chair and manage emergency Annual Reviews, working collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals to adapt and enhance provision as required. Contribute to the strategic direction of the school, ensuring SEND provision aligns with the school improvement plan (SIP). Monitor and review the quality of SEND provision across the school, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions. Collaborate with the Local Authority (LA) to secure appropriate funding and resources to meet students’ evolving needs. Develop, implement and monitor provisions outlined in EHCPs. Provide professional guidance, training, and support to staff, promoting high-quality teaching and inclusive practices. Maintain accurate SEND registers and provision maps, ensuring all records are kept up to date and data informs strategic decisions. Support smooth transitions for students. Liaising with staff, parents, carers, external agencies and other schools to coordinate support for our students. To develop and implement teaching and learning initiatives and ensure quality first teaching across the school. Be able to effectively articulate the needs of students both orally and in written form. About You
The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Hold the National SENDCo Award (or an equivalent recognised SEN qualification). Have significant SENDCo experience in a primary setting, with the ability to adapt provision for a secondary SEMH context. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements related to EHCPs, particularly Annual Reviews. Be skilled at collaborating with the local authority and external professionals to secure funding and implement effective strategies. Have excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with colleagues, parents, carers and external partners. Show a commitment to promoting an ethos of inclusion and securing the best outcomes for students with SEN. Proven track record of achieving outstanding pupil progress. Experience of using data and data analysis to drive up standards. Clear knowledge and experience in all issues relating to the safeguarding of children. Why Join Us?
