Formulation Technologist

within our

Heated Tobacco team , where you will develop next generation formulation and product technologies, which are required for the company’s ambitious innovation programme and growth plans. As Formulation Technologist, you will be responsible for managing small teams of technicians and utilising a range of analytical and testing methods for characterization and performance evaluation. To have impact as Formulation Technologist, you will demonstrate curiosity, a broad and deep technical skill set, a collaborative mindset with excellent influencing, and team building skills. You will play a vital and transformative role as part of an inclusive, forward-thinking global FMCG business supported by 25,000 passionate employees worldwide. Principal Accountabilities Identify and formulate novel product formulations to support innovation projects and conduct small scale synthesis of known materials. Utilise a range of analytical and testing methods for characterization and performance evaluation. Prepare technical reports, presentations and other management tasks related to new product development/innovation. Contribute ideas and opinions to scientific discussions and development of new technologies. Contribute to multiple innovation projects, coordinating information and activity required from other functions. Manage a small team of Formulation Technicians and influence projects to turn ideas into commercial reality. Skills and Experience Required Educated to Degree level or possessing relevant experience in product formulation. Experience in laboratory scale synthesis, purification, and reaction mechanisms. Planning and completing scientific work to agreed standards. Time management, excellent report writing skills, problem solving communication and team working skills. Ability to break down complex problems into achievable goals and provide effective solutions. Experience leading others in team and project based initiatives.
