Abatec are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager, to join our client, a National Civil Engineering contractor with offices in Bournemouth & Bristol. This position will be working on the newly awarded Wessex Water Framework for AMP8 with the ideal candidate being based between Bournemouth and Bristol. With new schemes due to break ground in April 2025, our client is keen to appoint the successful individual as soon as possible however they must have previous water sector experience, to lead their team in delivering a portfolio of works with individual projects ranging between 2m - 10m. This role will have overall responsibility for the management and success of a number of projects, including customer relations, health and safety, quality, environmental, programme and the cost/value of operations under his/her control. As a Contracts Manager, you will:

Maintain effective and long-term relationships with internal and external customers and their representatives/advisors. Prioritise and meet pre-defined deadlines. Be proactive in the identification and resolution of problems. Review methods of working, alternative materials etc in order to maximise commercial profitability; Managing, monitoring, supporting, mentoring and counselling members of the project teams in their personal development. Undertake annual appraisal for staff directly reporting to the role; Seeking and developing ongoing continuous improvement. Directly supervises a number of project teams comprising project and site managers, engineers, quantity surveyors and foremen etc. Our client requires a Contracts Manager with:

Experience in a similar Contract Management role for a main contractor within the water sector Professional Qualification e.g. CIOB (desirable); CITB Level 3 Safety Course Appropriate CSCS Card High level of leadership and management skills Technical experience and knowledge High level of Commercial and Financial ability Excellent organisational and communication skills Full driving licence Salary and benefits include:
