Reporting to the National Operations Director, the role of

Energy Strategy Manager

will be responsible for identifying innovative solutions to either generate energy or to reduce our energy consumption and drive cost efficiencies within the organization. The role of

Energy Strategy Manager

will also be responsible for: Help identify, prioritize, and deliver opportunities to generate green energy in a sustainable and economical fashion including the potential benefits of solar and wind power. Working with the procurement function to identify optimum energy sources. Understanding energy tariffs and developing and implementing the energy strategy. Reporting energy performance to senior management. Ensuring site targets are agreed, reviewed, and aligned as part of the budget process. Researching and understanding proposed government and technological innovations and proposing funding strategies for long-term energy optimization. Engaging and influencing key stakeholders including suppliers, government departments, and external bodies to understand and drive innovative, cost-effective solutions. Developing tools and techniques to lower energy consumption. Monitoring and tracking progress of current energy reduction programs. Investigating new and innovative solutions to reduce the company’s energy needs. Supporting the development of case studies to demonstrate comparative energy sources. Working with CRH teams on energy proposals and sharing best practices. The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of

Energy Strategy Manager

will demonstrate a passion for sustainability and driving positive change in energy practices. You will preferably have proven experience of successfully developing and implementing sustainability and energy optimization solutions within a manufacturing environment. Suitable candidates for the role of

Energy Strategy Manager

will also demonstrate: Degree in Energy Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (advantageous). Strategic thinker with a proactive, innovative approach to energy management. Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and trends and able to drive results through optimization and continuous improvement. Ability to effectively collaborate across departments and with external partners. Ability to develop and execute the energy strategy aligned with business goals. Confidence to identify emerging trends and technologies in energy management and sustainability. Commitment to communicate energy strategy and initiatives to stakeholders, including senior management, employees, and external partners. Proven ability to network with energy suppliers, regulatory bodies, and industry associations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
