We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join the gynaecology oncology nurse specialist team working across site with the wider multidisciplinary team.
We support patients and their families throughout their cancer journey, starting at the point of referral as a suspected cancer, right through to cancer diagnosis and additional treatments. Treatments can include preparation for surgery, surgery and recovery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.
Main duties of the job Gynaecology / Oncology nursing experience at band 6 would be preferable. You will need to be flexible, reliable, and patient-focused.
This post will be expected to support with cross-site cover as needed by the service.
The Women and Children's Business Unit is proactive in developing a culture that delivers optimum care and support for outpatients.
The Gynaecology Clinical Nurse Specialists and wider team will provide guidance and support for the successful candidates and work closely together to implement this.
The Gynaecology Clinical Nurse Specialists are responsible for the triaging of all the suspected gynaecology cancer referrals, arranging any investigations needed prior to patients being seen in clinic.
The successful candidate will receive a full induction and will be expected to take an active role in supporting and developing our triage service.
