Automation Technician Location: Gloucestershire Salary: Competitive The role: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automation Technician to support automated and semi-automated assembly cells. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and fault-finding across various automation systems. In this role, you will work closely with automation integrators to ensure seamless operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated systems. This is a vital position that focuses on optimizing production efficiency, minimizing downtime, and ensuring high-quality outputs. Key Responsibilities: Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:

Quickly diagnose and resolve issues within automated systems to maintain productivity and minimize downtime. Maintenance and Repairs:

Perform regular preventative maintenance on automated assembly cells to ensure optimal efficiency and equipment longevity. Fault-Finding:

Identify root causes of technical issues and implement effective solutions to prevent recurrence. Optimization and Continuous Improvement:

Evaluate and refine automation processes to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality. Collaboration:

Work closely with automation integrators on system installations, testing, and upgrades, ensuring alignment with production goals and compliance with standards. Safety Compliance:

Adhere to safety protocols, promoting a secure work environment while handling complex automation systems. Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting activities to inform process improvements. Candidate Profile: Experience: Experience in a technical role focused on automation, ideally within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in PLC programming, robotics, and HMI systems, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting automated machinery. Qualifications: Diploma or associate degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field. Core Competencies: Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly to different audiences. Problem-solving mindset, with a focus on analyzing root causes and making informed decisions. Team-oriented approach, fostering collaboration and trust within a high-performing team. Commitment to continuous improvement, adapting to changes and seeking innovative solutions. Effective planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage projects and set realistic milestones. Technical Skills: Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems in automated environments. Familiarity with working alongside automation integrators and understanding various automation systems. Awareness of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is advantageous.
