Job Description Ardingly College is seeking to appoint a Sports Graduate to work across our main sports of Netball, Hockey, Cricket, Football, and Swimming. This role will support the Sports department from September 2025 for a fixed term period until August 2026 and involve coaching sport and promoting the general progress and well-being of individual pupils.

The successful candidate should have a high level of experience in playing and coaching any of the College’s key sports: Netball, Hockey, Cricket, Football, and Swimming. They will be required to take part in the sports programme throughout the week in both Senior and Prep Schools, supporting the Heads of Sport with organising and preparing for fixtures on Fridays, alongside attending Saturday fixtures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide assistance in the areas of sport that are offered to both boys and girls. This includes:

Coaching a team during Senior Games

Assisting the Prep School with coaching on their Games afternoons – Mon/Wed/Fri

Supporting the teaching of Core PE

Supporting and leading aspects of GCSE PE practical lessons where appropriate

Offer EP/After School Sports Clubs (Prep/Senior) in liaison with the Head of Prep and Lower School Sports and Director of Sport (timetable permitting)

Provide the Sports Department with basic administrative support including SOCS /Website updates.

Assist with various other large Sporting events happening throughout the year for example (but not limited to):

Sports Tournaments

Prep School Masterclass Days

Sports Scholarship Days 11+, 13+, 16+

Sports Days

House Sports Competitions

Run after School Clubs (Hours permitting)

To assist with school fixtures umpiring and refereeing (if qualified).

To maintain the Store Sheds and cupboards keeping them tidy and monitoring equipment.

Helping to disseminate information regarding Sport and Games to Houses particularly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Go about every job with energy and enthusiasm and get involved in as much as you can in the school life at Ardingly College.

To monitor and track the House Sports Competitions keeping a record of results and trophy allocation in readiness for HM assemblies and termly reports.

Terms and Conditions: Contract:

This role is offered on a fixed term contract from September 2025 until 31st August 2026.

Hours of Work:

40 hours per week, for 35 weeks per year (during term-time only, plus one additional week to assist with pre-season training). The actual times of work are subject to flexibility and will be agreed directly with the Director of Sport.

Rate of Pay:

£19,248 per annum inclusive of paid holiday
