We are looking for Scrub Practitioners to join our site. The role will be 40 hours over 5 days per week, including cover on weekends on a rota basis. We are only a few minutes walk from Langley train station which is on the Elizabeth line, and there is plenty of parking close to the clinic.
Main duties of the job
Setting up the theatre ready to accommodate patients.
Providing competent scrub provision, supporting the surgeon through the daily theatre list, anticipating and resolving potential problems.
Cleaning down the theatre at the end of the day, ensuring the highest standards are met in terms of patient safety, clinical compliance, and hygiene levels.
Undertaking medicine management and audit duties, as well as maintaining accurate patient records.
Managing clinical waste and ensuring correct disposal procedures are implemented.
Being empathetic and friendly to help patients feel comfortable during their time in surgery.

Qualifications
Essential:
NMC registered Nurse or HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner
Skills and knowledge
Essential:
Capable of working in a fast-paced, high-volume theatre setting
Desirable:
Ability to set up for vitrectomy surgery, full understanding of Phaco Instrumentation, working knowledge of Biometry/Lens bank/Implants, knowledge of clinical practice and awareness of current developments in Optometry.
Experience
Essential:
Experience of working in theatre
Desirable:
Ophthalmic experience in a theatre setting, previous hospital eye service or private eye clinic experience, experience of supporting the surgeon during theatre problem solving and issue resolution, experience in the training and coaching of others.
