Patients admitted to the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) have actual or potential acute care needs that require continuous monitoring that cannot be provided on the general floors. The primary patients admitted to PCU are those who need less care than standard intensive care but more than what is available on telemetry or med-surg units. The PCU RN is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. The RN acts as a patient advocate. The RN provides support, information and direct care and utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. The Registered Nurse educates patients and families on significant self-care issues. The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required. PCU RN Position Requirements
Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 12 months of employment. NIH Stroke Scale Certification will be obtained during orientation. PCU RN Work Schedule
May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy. Scheduled off at least three holidays per year. Required to work weekends per unit need. Expected to work overtime on occasion. OUTSTANDING SALARY AND BENEFITS !!
