The area offers the best of both worlds - cosmopolitan city life and stunning countryside. Trust Information Hospitals see more than 4,000 outpatients daily. See more Trauma & Orthopaedic outpatients than any other Trust - over 3,300 per week. An average of 860 patients are seen in A&E every day - 6th largest in the country. Hospitals admit more than 220 emergency patients daily. Carry out more planned surgical operations than any other Trust in England with almost 50,000 operations taking place in our 52 operating theatres. One of only 5 Trusts nationally with more than 50 operating theatres. Carry out more than 300 elective procedures each working day. What’s on offer for you? Salary scale between £105,504 - £139,882. Full comprehensive relocation package on offer for a substantive contract. Generously funded study leave is available. Cycle to work scheme. Blue light discounts. Key Responsibilities: Your clinical role will be working across the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU), Medical Same Day Emergency Care (mSDEC), and provide in-reach to the Emergency Department (ED). You will work 1:6 weekends. MAU is a 57-bedded unit. When working in MAU for the day, you will be one of a team of 3 Acute Medicine Consultants contributing direct clinical care to patients alongside the Junior doctor/assistant clinical practitioner (ACP) workforce and ward MDT. We also work closely with all our medical specialties who provide Specialty Consultant in-reach/Ward rounds 1-2 times per day, 7 days per week. The improved Same Day Emergency Care Centre was relaunched at a new on-site location during 2018 and has a dedicated nursing team and a junior doctor workforce. As part of rota commitments, you will contribute to Consultant shifts in SDEC. Requirements to Apply: Substantive Consultant Evidence of entry on GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of attaining CCT at time of interview.
