Timaru has very few Registrars competing for clinical experience, allowing direct one-to-one interactions with Consultants. You will get to participate fully in theatre cases assisting alongside the relevant Surgeon. The surgical runs also include several subspecialties (Pain, Ophthalmology, Dental and ENT). The training environment supports a wide variety of specialties and there are weekly, protected teaching sessions and Hospital Grand Rounds, along with access to specific courses such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Plus, you will have the support of a dedicated Senior Doctor.
