Accounting Technician | Belfast | Permanent Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a successful company in South Belfast and are actively recruiting for an Accounting Technician. Our client values a straightforward, honest approach and is passionate about delivering excellent customer service every day. Reporting to the Finance Director, the Accounting Technician will be an integral part of a small, dynamic accounts team, helping to maintain books, process accounts, and produce essential financial reports and information. If you are driven, flexible, and have a keen eye for detail, this could be the perfect role for you. This role offers the opportunity to work from home a minimum of 1 day per week. Day-to-day responsibilities: Working in a stand-alone role providing day-to-day support to the Finance Director to ensure efficient and timely operations Management of the accounts to Trial Balance stage Post and file purchase ledger invoices and handle payments Conduct daily bank account reconciliations and reconcile supplier statements Manage the accounts payable mailbox and process monthly payroll Handle the posting and payment of sales ledger invoices Prepare various financial information and reports Process self-employed invoices and payments, and handle monthly CIS returns Perform general administrative tasks as needed Required Skills & Qualifications: Confidence and ability to manage the accounts to Trial Balance in a stand-alone role Strong planning, organisation, and communication skills Excellent attention to detail and a disciplined approach to work Resilient and flexible, with a positive, can-do attitude Strong reporting experience Experience with payroll processing and CIS returns is advantageous Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience with Xero software would be ideal Benefits: Competitive salary and benefits package Opportunities for personal and professional development Work in a company that aligns with your ethics and commitment to customer service If you are looking for the next step in your career and have the relevant skills and experience, please get in touch with Lizzy Lyons and email an up-to-date CV to us.
