17 February 2025 Job Summary The Senior Product Manager is responsible for leading the development and delivery of innovative, compliant, Home Finance products and criteria that meet market demands, business objectives, and regulatory requirements, while ensuring good customer outcomes. This includes overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from the creation of new products to their successful market introduction, with a strong focus on delivering value and satisfaction to customers. The role also involves applying effective risk management strategies and managing key stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment with organisational goals. Additionally, it includes the ongoing management of existing customer products, ensuring their continued relevance, compliance, and optimal performance, while fostering strong internal and external relationships to drive collaboration and success. Key responsibilities
Proactively manage and maintain strong relationships with the Bank’s external partners (including platforms, insurers, and brokers) and internal departments on home finance related activity including: o Product management o Customer journey and communication o Regulatory changes and compliance o Management Information to drive decision making o Risk management processes o Financial & Operational Budgets/Targets Proactively establish and maintain relationships with new and existing mortgage and sourcing platforms, ensuring seamless integration and collaboration with all stakeholders. Initiate and oversee the development of new home finance products, including Home Purchase Plans (HPP) and Buy-to-Let (BTL) products, as well as any product pricing and criteria changes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market needs. Manage all product or criteria-related changes from inception through to implementation, ensuring thorough engagement with and communication to all key internal and external stakeholders throughout the process. Establish strong internal relationships with teams across the Bank including the Executive team, Finance, Risk, Operations, Commercial and Compliance to ensure business targets are achieved. Work closely with the wider Customer Marketing & Communications team to ensure the home finance product range is effectively promoted, both internally and externally, to enhance customer acquisition and retention. Act as the Bank’s expert and spokesperson on home finance topics, representing the Bank at industry events, forums, and discussions, while providing guidance and insights on emerging trends and regulatory changes. Attendee of various committees - Monitor business/market activity and sharing regular management information updates with the committee. Ensure all Home Finance products meet Consumer Duty requirements, focusing on delivering fair outcomes and supporting customers' needs. Work to identify any areas where products or services may not be aligned with the duty of care and collaborate with teams to address any potential risks to consumers. Preparing return-on-capital analysis and maintaining the RoC calculator. Lead your team by role modelling our ROC values and behaviours. People managers are responsible for completing all colleague life cycle activities such as recruitment; performance review process: providing input and encouraging colleague development with a focus on values, behaviours; wellbeing and to promote and enhance colleague engagement. People managers are also expected to adhere to all policies and procedures and ensure their team function effectively. Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training. Skills required
Leadership skills, including the ability to manage product risk, compliance, and control activities. Considerable knowledge and experience of best practice and governance frameworks, methodologies, and emerging practice, in relation to the development and management of home finance products in UK regulated financial services context. Experience in a strategic marketing/product development role. Knowledge of financial services and developing products in a regulated environment. In depth regulatory knowledge. Strong knowledge of the UK Home Finance/Mortgage market. Good Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. Ability to negotiate with service providers. Ability to work autonomously. Must be innovative, providing solutions which are appropriate, for the business and fit for purpose. Extensive knowledge of the UK Mortgage sector. Beneficial skills and qualifications
Knowledge of Shariah-compliant Financing. Extensive knowledge of Power-Bi. Degree or appropriate professional qualification in relevant business area. Extensive experience of Product Management in the UK Mortgage Market including CeMAP or other relevant qualification. About us
