3 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English) or equivalent. Previous experience of the provision of administrative support. Good communication skills both written and verbal. Good IT skills including the ability to use a case management system together with the ability to introduce changes to improve service delivery through the use of the system. Good interpersonal skills to be able to deal with staff, other organisations and members of the public courteously and efficiently in person and by telephone. Ability to organise own workload and identify priorities. Able to handle sensitive issues with tact and confidentiality. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Outlook. Desirable:
NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration. Experience of working in a legal environment. Experience of working in local government. What's involved with this role:
You will provide legal administrative support to the lawyers within Legal Services in order to assist in the delivery of high quality legal services to the Council, its members and officers. You will assist the Team with time sensitive court matters (e.g. bundling), general correspondence (i.e. sending out letters via DocMail), the invoicing process, and opening files on the case management system. You will also arrange meetings and make telephone calls to help with ICT queries, acting as a point of contact with the Service Area clients. Key Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the lawyers, the preparation of standard legal documents and correspondence forming part of the work of Legal Services. Provide an efficient and effective support service to the lawyers to facilitate legal meetings, court hearings, inquiries and committee meetings. Preparing and maintaining statistics relevant to each area as required by the Principal Lawyer and Legal Services Business Partner. Dealing with general enquiries relevant to the work of Legal Services.
