Job Summary The Somerset Dermatology Service is looking for two Band 3 Healthcare Assistants/Support Workers for our expanding dermatology service at Musgrove Park Hospital and Intermediate Care. You will be based on the West side of the County and must be willing to travel to our sites across the community. You will provide effective clinical support to the Dermatology team and support the systems for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery. Main Duties of the Job Experience of working in a care setting would be advantageous, but all necessary skills training, professional updates, and mandatory training as appropriate to the post will be provided. There will be an expectation of a flexible approach to travelling between sites as part of Somerset Foundation Trust. Qualifications A Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) Level 3. This could be a Vocational NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent international qualification in healthcare or able to demonstrate the equivalent level of experience. Knowledge of Dermatology or willingness to learn. Experience Previous recent experience of working within an acute/community setting. Phlebotomy (Adults). Experience of recording Observations. Experience of taking and monitoring blood glucose levels. Desirable Phlebotomy (Children). Additional Criteria Understands the need for strict confidentiality. Teaching/supervising others. Able to work under instruction and on own initiative within the boundaries of the role. Ability to work under pressure. Understands limitations of the role and need to refer to others.
