We are currently recruiting for a Loading Bay Team Leader for our well-established client in Barrow LE12.
Pay Rate: £14.20ph
Working Hours: Monday - Friday
Contract: Temp to Perm - Full-time Hours
Can be offered a full-time permanent contract with 12 successful weeks with Blue Arrow.

Duties:
Effectively operate a safe working environment to support the function of the team. Adhere to the health and safety practices and procedures whilst working on site. Lead the team to ensure contact between the loading bay operation and other departments is carried out. Provide high-quality safety observations. Be the 'go-to' person for the site, for holidays, uniform, shift changes/cover. Drive productivity and effectiveness by leading an approach that is consistent with demand (i.e. trailers loaded). This is a hands-on role, designed to ensure that gaps in cover can be supported. Being partially yard-based, observe activities in the yard from time-to-time and become a generic resource, fitting in where needed. Issue work permits in accordance with site rules. Lead communications up and down stream for this remit. Complete the requisite number of safety observations on yard/driver activity. Liaise with the traffic office on observed anomalies and/or poor practice. Liaise appropriately and constructively with the team as required.
About You: Experience/knowledge of transport/warehouse practices. Understanding of safe working practices. Operational understanding of team roles. Good communication skills. Active decision making. Previous experience of administration tasks and duties. Minimum of 1 year in a warehouse/industrial setting working with commercial vehicles, movements and vehicle loading. Minimum of 1 year working in MHE centric environments. Some supervisory/leadership experience. Minimum of 3 years in industrial settings such as warehouses, production units. Minimum of 2 years in HGV movement environments.
