Purchasing Manager

Energis is currently recruiting a Purchasing Manager for our manufacturing client based near Belfast. As Purchasing Manager you will ensure effective management, control and development of the supply-chain, procurement of materials and services, negotiating cost reductions and implementation of contracts with suppliers. Responsibilities: Building strong relationships with new and existing suppliers, both local and global Secure supply contracts to achieve best commercial terms and contracts Purchase consumables, production parts, supplies, and equipment Expedite open orders from suppliers Develop strong working relationships with internal teams Monitor ongoing spend against annual budgets and reporting to management team Lead the purchasing team through prioritisation of tasks and planning orders of raw materials and parts to meet production schedule Oversee order book and on-time delivery Manage inventory levels and stores Liaise with transport companies for shipping Update and maintain purchasing scorecards and reports Review invoices to ensure accuracy. Criteria: Minimum 2-3 years purchasing and supplier management experience gained within a fast-moving manufacturing environment. High level of attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines Proficient in all Microsoft Office packages Previous experience of MRP systems Knowledge of Lean would be an advantage Salary is negotiable depending upon experience. The role offers flexible start / finish times with an early Friday finish!
