A bit about the role We employ a comprehensive system of whole-family support, which focuses on building intensive relationships and providing robust support to enhance the wellbeing of the families we engage with. This holistic approach aims to stabilise families, helping them to overcome their challenges and live happier, more fulfilling lives together. As a Children Service Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in guiding a dedicated team focused on providing exceptional support to children young people and families. In this position you'll manage a diverse caseload, planning, preparing and delivering engaging group sessions tailored to meet the specific needs of children, young people families. Your responsibilities will include offering one to one support and supervision within the children's service ensuring that all interactions align with Ofsted requirements and service delivery standards. You'll be expected to demonstrate advanced casework skills, particularly in safeguarding and will take the lead in delivering parenting sessions. Comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with the necessary skills to facilitate workshops and parent/child sessions, all whilst adhering to Ofsted regulations. Your guidance will be crucial in the team as it will help foster a collaborative environment where every team member feels supported and empowered to contribute effectively. About the service During the last year we supported over 500 children. We want someone who is passionate and wants to join us in making a difference by listening to the child's voice first and doing what is right. We work in partnership with Health, Care, Education, and others including local children centres, welfare support and other voluntary organisations. Our services include child and family health services; parenting programmes and antenatal support; early year's education services, such as 'stay and play' sessions; speech and language support and family learning. In Addition, we offer support for parents with adult learning and employment support. How you'll help to create brighter futures Some key responsibilities of a Childrens Services Practitioner role are. Provide a high-quality service to children/young people and their families based on assessed needs and outcomes. Deliver complex and specialised interventions with children and families in one-to-one or group community settings. Lead case planning including assessment and reviews. Establish and develop effective relationships with children, families, colleagues and external agencies. Retain accurate records using various IT systems to produce written reports. Supervise staff and volunteers effectively. Let's talk about you. Level 3 qualification or above in Early Years/childcare working with Children, Young People and Families or equivalent qualification Working within a multi-agency social care, early years or health environment and applying safeguarding procedures Experience of managing cases, in accordance with agreed procedures and completing assessments, planning and reviews to ensure positive outcomes Ability to keep the child and or young people as the focus and ensure their feelings and wishes are represented in meetings and record keeping. Ability to communicate effectively and engagingly and to maintain independent professional relationships, boundaries.
