Interim Financial Controller - 6 months contract - circa 300pd My Client, a well-established (5+ decades), growing family-owned business in Plymouth, is urgently looking for a highly competent and experienced Interim Financial Controller to take ownership of the financial operations for a 6-month contract. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the financial reporting and control systems. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate production of monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow). Financial Analysis: Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide insightful reports to management. Accounting Operations: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other key accounting functions. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Internal Controls: Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes. Team Management: Manage and mentor a small finance team, providing guidance and support. Special Projects: Assist with ad-hoc projects as required, such as budgeting, forecasting, or system implementations. Qualifications: Qualified accountant: (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent experience) Proven Experience: Significant experience (5+ years) as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance role in a UK business. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal control frameworks. Systems Proficiency: Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage). Communication & Leadership: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively. My Client is offering a competitive day rate of circa 300pd (DOE) and is keen to fill this position urgently.
