An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse within Respiratory Medicine at the Northern General Hospital. We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced nurse to assist the Senior Charge Nurse in managing Robert Hadfield 1, an acute respiratory inpatient ward. The post holder will deliver high quality care, ensuring individual patients' needs are assessed, care planned, implemented and evaluated regularly. Care will be patient-centred and patients will be encouraged to participate in the planning of their care using evidence-based research practices. Exercise judgement in assessing wide-ranging and complex patient problems. Agree solutions, ensure and promote options to enable the delivery of optimum patient care. Ensure that an effective discharge procedure is planned and actioned, so patients are discharged safely and in a timely manner. Qualifications

Registered Nurse To have completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998. Possess or working towards a degree. Experience

Experience at AFC band 5 (or equivalent) Experience of caring for patients with Respiratory conditions. Evidence of delivering education and training to patients and staff. Evidence of working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams. Evidence of leadership and management in a healthcare setting. Evidence of applying research and audit in practice. Evidence of successfully managing & evaluating change. Further Training

IV drug administration competency. Evidence of professional development. Ability to apply healthcare governance principles. Leadership and motivational skills.
