Production Engineer – Chemical Manufacturing

Join our team as a Production Engineer, where you’ll be the go-to expert for plant processes. Your mission? To optimize production, drive cost savings, enhance quality, and boost capacity. Plus, you’ll lead continuous improvement efforts and provide daily technical support. Ready to make an impact?

What is possible? Maintenance Priorities:

Collaborate with the Operations Leader to define weekly maintenance priorities, minimizing impact on product commitments. OEE Optimization:

Identify and address OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) losses, implementing real-time tools and improvement plans to enhance site capacity. Technical Troubleshooting:

Provide day-to-day troubleshooting support, focusing on software and technical/quality issues. Initiate MOC (Management of Change) and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) as needed. Quality Improvement:

Deploy Lean Six Sigma tools, including RFT (Right First Time), Control Charts, Cpk, and Ppk, to stabilize processes and ensure quality control. Daily Activities:

Assist with daily activities such as MOC, RCA, HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study), SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) review, and strategic projects. Collaboration:

Work closely with production staff, including operatives and technicians, to maintain efficient assembly, manufacturing, and packaging systems. What do you bring? Preferably, candidates for the Production Engineer role within chemical manufacturing should hold a degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. This educational foundation equips them with essential knowledge related to chemical processes, safety protocols, and material properties. A degree in this field provides a solid base for understanding the intricacies of production processes and optimizing them effectively. As a Production Engineer, familiarity with chemical principles and process design is crucial. Chemical engineers possess the technical expertise needed to address challenges specific to chemical manufacturing. They can analyse production data, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions to enhance efficiency and quality. Working in chemical manufacturing involves handling hazardous materials. A background in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering ensures that candidates are well-versed in safety regulations, risk assessment, and compliance standards. This knowledge is essential for maintaining a safe work environment and preventing accidents. Production Engineers often encounter technical issues or process inefficiencies. With their problem-solving skills, they can troubleshoot problems, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective actions. Whether it's software-related issues or quality concerns, their ability to think critically is invaluable. In chemical manufacturing, teamwork is essential. Production Engineers collaborate closely with operators, technicians, and other team members. Effective communication skills are necessary for conveying technical information, coordinating efforts, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
