Position Description ESB Smart Energy Services (SES) develops and delivers an integrated energy management solution for large energy users in the UK and Ireland. We work in partnership with our customers to create long term shared value, SES designs, develops and delivers tailored solutions which include energy efficiency, onsite generation and demand management technologies. We are seeking an experienced and energetic Customer Solutions Business Development Manager to help us attract new customers, and to manage and grow our customer accounts. The role is a customer centric role requiring close collaboration and engagement with each customer to design, develop and deliver the best technical and commercial solution to meet their needs. Key Responsibilities Design and implement a strategic sales plan that expands the company’s customer base and establishes a strong presence in the market Identify and develop commercial opportunities with new customers Achieve sales turnover and profitability in line with the sales plan Achieve growth sales targets by successfully expanding the customer base Present sales, revenue and realistic forecasts to the management team Account management and customer satisfaction Negotiate commercial agreements with customers Account budget preparation and management Preparation of presentation and proposals to obtain new orders including proper review of customer specifications and commercial requirements Coordinate and resolve customer service issues whilst providing an opportunity to add revenue in the future Maintain outstanding working relationships with key strategic clients, enhancing retention and new sales through referrals and references Support project delivery to meet customer’s expectations Support and mentor the wider Sales team in the business unit Fully knowledgeable of product offerings, competitors and external factors Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs Experience & Qualifications At least 7 to 10 years relevant industry experience within Energy Services In depth understanding of energy management, energy efficiency and distributed generation technologies Hands-on experience in sales and an ability to deliver an excellent customer experience Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills Strong commercial focus New technology introduction Proven track record in achieving & exceeding sales targets Degree level qualification (Engineering or Business Management) or equivalent work experience. Location The successful candidate will be based in our London, Glasgow, Coventry or Manchester office but will spend time working on client sites across other parts of GB. Some international travel may be required from time to time. ESB is committed to smart working – combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible ways of working. The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least one anchor day per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.
