Job Advert: DevOps Engineer – Contract Role (Inside IR35) Proven experience in a government or public sector environment, with an understanding of security and compliance requirements. Location: Remote with occasional on-site work in Newcastle Contract Type: Inside IR35 Duration: 6 months (with potential extensions) About the Role: We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our clients dynamic team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a proven track record in delivering DevOps solutions within government projects. You will work remotely for most of the time, with occasional travel to our Newcastle office. Key Responsibilities: Develop, manage, and deploy infrastructure using Helm and Kubernetes. Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support agile development workflows. Utilize Docker for containerization and deployment of scalable applications. Collaborate with development, testing, and operations teams to enhance system reliability and performance. Implement best practices for infrastructure as code and automated deployment. Ensure adherence to government regulations, policies, and security standards. Essential Skills and Experience: Strong expertise in Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker. Hands-on experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with cloud platforms and container orchestration tools. Proven experience in a government or public sector environment, with an understanding of security and compliance requirements. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to travel occasionally to Newcastle for on-site meetings and work. Desirable Qualifications: Certification in Kubernetes or related DevOps technologies. Knowledge of modern monitoring and logging tools. Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
