Read more at www.dsv.com Location: ZAF - East London, Lower Chester Rd Unit BE 5/6 Job Posting Title: Manager, Branch Time Type: Full Time SUMMARY Manage the staff, clients and deliverables of the branch ensuring that it is aligned with the overall objectives of the organization and the resources are fully utilized to ensure optimal delivery of services to our clients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the delivery of the organization's objectives through communication, measurement and motivation of the staff. Interface with shared functions ensuring continuous cooperation and interactions with these functions. Manage and deliver on client commitments based on local, national and global strategy. Manage cost and productivity within the branch ensuring that efficiency and effectiveness are prioritized. Ensure compliance with internal and external controls and other KPIs set at global and local levels. Deliver on the bottom line budget commitment to ensure that the business unit budget is met. Identify opportunities and risks within the business that may impact the business environment and ability to deliver on shareholder commitments. Manage people's performance and growth to create a sustainable business environment. Adhere to deadlines and schedules. Manage and control resources and risk management. Perform administrative duties relevant to the position. Interact with customers at all levels – in person and telephonically. Maintain existing systems, processes and controls with continuous improvement. Actively manage daily operational performance to consistently achieve performance metric targets. Deliver on client and internal requirements. Manage internal stakeholder communication, ensuring agreed meetings, conference calls and forums are planned and conducted as agreed by all stakeholders. Analyze customer dissatisfaction processes, failures with regards to deliveries, client complaints, damages etc., to determine root cause and corrective actions. QUALIFICATIONS Completed Matric / Grade 12. B.Comm or equivalent diploma or post-graduate diploma in Logistics. COMPUTER SKILLS Advanced Excel skills. Experience with WMS and Tracking Systems. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Financial, Sales, Operational, HR and IR skills are essential. 5 years of experience in the Logistics and Road Transport environment in an operational management position. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff. Ability to work with MS Excel Spreadsheets including Pivot Tables, charts and formulas. Experience in managing own P&L. Comprehensive knowledge of the LRA and BCEA and hands-on experience in IR. Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Must have own reliable transport. Willing to work overtime / shifts if needed.
