To support individuals at key times, some work may be required outside of usual office hours. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to be part of our Childrens Intensive Support Team for Coventry and Warwickshire. If you are driven, passionate and want to work with children and their families who are in mental health crisis and are at risk of admission to hospital, then we want to hear from you. The team is a specialist, multi-disciplinary team currently consisting of Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists and Nursing. Job responsibilities

Detailed job description and main responsibilities: As a team we work systemically to understand and support the significant impact and challenges experienced by children who are in mental health crisis, and their families. In order to do this, we work with the network around the child/adult (RISE, Adult Mental Health, Social Care, Education) and work closely with commissioners. As a speech and language therapist you will have experience of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working as you will need to attend and chair regular MDTs, CETRs and EMDTs. As a Speech and Language Therapist you would visit the child in their home / at school / in an appropriate setting multiple times a week to engage them and carry out our assessments and interventions. Essential Degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy. Significant post graduate training in Autism/Learning Disability. An understanding of the specific contribution of Speech and Language Therapists in Neurodevelopmental/Learning Disability services.
