This role provides front line HSE support, advice and expert guidance to Branch Managers and Regional Directors, completes Group and statutory Health and Safety reporting requirements, LTI investigation and case management, and delivers the 2nd line of defence HSE audit programme. Some accountabilities of the role:

Undertake HSE Branch Reviews (2nd line of Defence Audits) in line with business risk profile. Support Branch Managers in resolving HSE related queries and problems. Deliver HSE related training in line with the business HSE plan or as a result of a specific training need identified. Manage the Lost Time Incident verification and investigation process supporting line managers ensuring that the Just Culture principles are correctly applied. Working with HR, support line managers with the Return to Work process for colleagues off as a result of a lost time incident, ensuring robust plans are in place to help them return to a normal way of life as quickly as possible. Complete all RIDDOR reporting requirements for your region. Review the various HSE Data streams for your region, e.g., near misses, self-assessment returns to determine quality insights that you can use to help support Branch Managers and Regional Directors reduce risk; supporting Branch Managers to resolve potentially significant / sense near misses. Develop and maintain relationships with Branch Managers and members of colleague-led HSE and driver forums in your region so that they can constructively feedback and input to the Forum. You possess excellent communication and influencing skills, which will make you comfortable with communicating across all levels of our business and quickly enable you to influence and gain buy-in for safety and change.
