Cure Talent are delighted to be partnering with an innovative Medical Device company, specialising in single-use sterile consumables and custom procedure packs for wards and theatres.

Due to their continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering, Maintenance and Facilities functions, ensuring the site operates efficiently and complies with all safety and legal requirements.

As the Engineering Manager, you will oversee the maintenance and reliability of equipment, manage plant investments and budgets, and provide technical support for machinery and tooling. You will also collaborate closely with manufacturing, HSE, Quality and new product development teams to drive productivity and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in manufacturing, excellent problem-solving skills and a proven ability to manage teams effectively. You will bring technical expertise, a proactive approach, and a commitment to achieving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the Engineering, Maintenance and Facilities function, ensuring adequate resources are in place. Provide technical support for the design and reverse engineering of machinery components and tooling. Manage equipment obsolescence and develop short, medium and long-term plans to address it. Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to achieve agreed OEE levels. Coordinate plant resources, CAPEX investments and technical support for manufacturing and new product development. Ensure all technical documentation is created, updated and maintained. Lead building maintenance to ensure safety and legal compliance. Implement and maintain robust manufacturing processes and tools to improve productivity and quality. Identify opportunities to reduce costs and optimise equipment usage. Manage and develop the engineering team, ensuring training and compliance with SOPs.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

BEng in electrical, electronic, manufacturing or mechanical engineering (HNC will be considered). Proven experience in a similar engineering management role, preferably in medical device manufacturing or cleanroom environments. Proven experience in team management and maintenance capabilities. Knowledge of robotics, automation or design is advantageous. Strong understanding of 5S and continuous improvement methodologies.
